Michael Carroll is the Fire Chief of the Stoughton Fire Department, bringing 31 years of dedicated service to the Town of Stoughton. A third-generation firefighter, Chief Carroll oversees fire suppression, EMS transport, and community risk reduction with a focus on operational excellence, fiscal stewardship, and public trust. He has led initiatives to align staffing and deployment with NFPA 1710, expand officer development and training, modernize incident-command readiness, and strengthen regional automatic-aid partnerships. Current priorities include station and training-tower planning, data-driven performance management, and exploring Mobile Integrated Health to better serve residents. A collaborative, results-oriented leader, Chief Carroll is committed to a safe, professional culture that reflects the department’s promise to the community.

Jackson Macomber was appointed firefighter on September 25, 1995. He went on to serve as Lieutenant and Acting Captain before being appointed Assistant Fire Chief on July 1, 2021. Chief Macomber holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics/Business Management. He received the Massachusetts Firefighter Service Award for 30 years of dedicated service. He served our Country from 1987-2013 as a Combat Engineer, U.S. Army Diver and an Engineer Officer with 101 Engineer BN during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

James Brackett holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and an Associate's Degree in Fire Science, which complements his operational roles as a Firefighter/Paramedic and Director of Emergency Medical Services.
